Diving with Seals
Friday 23rd May places available

Lundy Island was made a statutory marine nature reserve in 1986. The island lies at the mouth of the Bristol Channel where the cool, clear, oceanic waters from the Gulf Stream mix with the clear, but warmer, waters from the Mediterranean. The British Isles is home to more than 75% of Europe's grey seal population. The biggest colonies are in the north and Scotland, with that on Lundy numbering about 60 during the autumn pupping and breeding season, and double that in summer.
We generally meet on at Adeles Café in Ilfracombe at about 7.30 am for breakfast before boarding Obsession 2 at about 9 o’clock ( back at about 5 o’clock) for the 20 mile boat ride to the Island, which takes about 1 ½ hours, so sit back and watch out for the dolphins, porpoises and seals etc.
Obsession 2 is a spacious boats having room for 12 divers to kit up at once, with ample space to store all the diving gear. There is side gate on the boat for easy entry and a lift or ladder, making re-boarding hassle-free.
